Delete Root User Account
This document walks you through the procedure of deleting the root user account of the EMQX Platform.
Prerequisites
To delete your root user account, you must ensure that you have no:
- Deployments
- Outstanding payments
Delete All Deployments
If you have several projects, make sure that deployments under each project are deleted.
- To delete a deployment, go to the deployments overview page, and click the Settings button at the top right corner.
- On the Settings page, click Delete Deployment at the bottom.
- Enter the deployment name. Click Confirm to permanently delete the deployment.
Pay the Outstanding Bills
To view and settle your outstanding bills, go to the billing overview page. Your balance should be $0.
If you delete a deployment billed hourly during the month, the bill for that deployment will be finalized at the end of the month. You can pay it in the following month and proceed with account deletion.
If you have a negative balance, simply click the Payment button to complete the payment process.
Delete EMQX Platform Root User Account
TIP
Once you delete your root user account, there's no way to recover it.
You can't reuse the email address that is associated with the deleted account to create a new account.
- Go to your account avatar in the upper right corner of the console, and click Profile.
- Find the Delete Account section at the end of the page. Click the Delete button.
- Confirm that you want to delete your account. a. Acknowledge the implications of deleting your account. b. Click Confirm Account Deletion. c. If there are any requirements you have not yet met, you are prompted to complete them before deleting your account.
- You could tell us the reasons for leaving. Enter the email address before clicking the Confirm and Delete button.
